Social Metrics Tracking On WordPress

WordPress No Comments on Social Metrics Tracking On WordPress 845

When publishing content to your WordPress site it’s a good idea to see which posts are shared the most.  Even if these posts are not the most popular as shown from Google Analytics it shows you the posts your visitors have a vested interest in.  This may be useful to you as a way to create content that will be shared and essentially used as advertising so more people learn about your site.

I use the Social Metrics Tracker to track the shares of content on GeekBrainDump.com.  I have found that it shows some interesting things that would be easy to miss such as when I wrote about Lincoln Nebraska’s startup scene the posts were shared significantly more than other posts. I can use this information not just for deciding which topics to write about, but it also gives me ideas on who I may approach for sponsorship or other opportunities.

Social Metrics Tracker is easy to install and I’ve had no issues with it.  To find out more go here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/social-metrics-tracker/

I am Eli "the Computer Guy" and have been in the tech industry for approx. 20 years doing all kinds of odd projects. I started as an electronics tech in the US Army, worked in corporate IT during the IT Boom, was an individual consultant and grew my tech shop to have numerous full time employees and supported small business clients with computer repair/ server maintenance/ web development/ surveillance systems/ telephone systems until the great recession. After that I started creating video training on all the topics I know and now have a YouTube Channel with over 500K subscribers. I am the founder of GeekBrainDump.com and my plan is to create a tech "news" site that I would actually find useful if I was still in the server room.
