IoT No Comments on Samsung ARTIK Compute Modules Designed For IoT Devices 33

Samsung just debuted their new ARTIK Compute Modules that are designed to power IoT devices of all types.  These modules include the CPU, RAM, Storage and Wireless Connectivity.  There are 3 versions for different requirements.  The ARTIK 1 is very low powered but is only 12mm by 12mm in size going up to the ARTIK 3 is a more standard ARM processor and is 29mm by 39mm.

Beyond the Physical Modules Samsung offers the Developer Kit, and Cloud Services so that the devices can communicate securely and easily. This seems to be a good attempt to create an overall platform so that Makers can develop and deploy IoT Devices as quickly as Developers can publish apps.

Samsung ARTIK is currently in Alpha testing for developers so if you would like to learn more, or apply go here: https://www.artik.io

I am Eli "the Computer Guy" and have been in the tech industry for approx. 20 years doing all kinds of odd projects. I started as an electronics tech in the US Army, worked in corporate IT during the IT Boom, was an individual consultant and grew my tech shop to have numerous full time employees and supported small business clients with computer repair/ server maintenance/ web development/ surveillance systems/ telephone systems until the great recession. After that I started creating video training on all the topics I know and now have a YouTube Channel with over 500K subscribers. I am the founder of GeekBrainDump.com and my plan is to create a tech "news" site that I would actually find useful if I was still in the server room.
