IT Technical trainings in India

Education systems in India are at large and IT industry is growing big time. That has made IT trainings pretty much in demand. Does that mean IT institutions in India are having a great time. Let’s find out.

In India, if you go out and look for an IT job (IT Support, Helpdesk, etc.) you probably will find many openings depending on the location but definitely Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad tops the list at this time of writing, that is Dec. 2014. The list is growing with certain cities like Kolkata, Jaipur, Coimbatore, Cochin, Trivandrum are making sure the CTC for an employee does not exceed too high.

The reason why pointed about job opportunities in big companies and institutes are because of the training facilities provided in these organizations. For an entry level Helpdesk position, the training is provided comprehensively even for non-IT graduates.

I hate to say this but someone calling from US or from another country who might be a System Administrator have no idea whom he is talking to. He might be dealing with a candidate having no prior IT educational background, no prior IT experience and might have no idea about routing or switching. Having said that, it’s not a very bad thing as these guys are trained well enough to handle cross cultural languages, temperament, etc. to deal with customers.

So, if someone has cracked a job somehow in a big company like HP, Dell, Microsoft, he should just take full utilization of the training, resources provided. Mind you he is getting trained on something for which he is PAID FOR rather than PAYING separately in an institute.

Final Thoughts: IT education is costly not only in India, but also outside India. As far as my knowledge and experience goes, high level trainings are not provided in jobs outside India. So make full use of training provided, focus on hands on-the job (training), find out what you are good at and get on with your IT career. That would be my way of going about it.
