The reason I haven’t written for GBD in along time

Old 9 Comments on The reason I haven’t written for GBD in along time 39

About a couple mouths ago, Eli said on his YouTube channel that the number of geek brain dump post per day has decreased drastically, I’m not sure if this will help but I would like to to explain why I haven’t wrote for GBD in a while. One of the reasons were is that school has started back up for me, I had a lot on my plate and not alot of time to write. Maybe some of the people who write for this site get summers of and that is why they were able to produce so many post. Or maybe there work hours were more fixable since it was the summer time, I will never know for sure.

If you did take some time of from writing, could you please post your reason for why you stopped writing for a will in the comments, I am very curious to see your responses.

I’ve been working on projects… and the new site layout lost my interest.

I agree with you on the layout. But for what it’s worth, it is a more mobile friendly being that it’s responsive. So, I got used to it.

Yeh, I liked the old layout as I was used to it, I wrote Eli on it. But I come here, even if I do not write a review as some posters are writing stuff I read and not summaries from websites I read the week before.

Also, Eli had me on a timer while I worked… His live shows were at 3 p.m. my time, I’d stop coding and work on graphics to listen and watch on my other screen. Sometimes passing it through to the TV and turning to gaze at whatever he may have.

Even if he was not live, the pre-recorded videos could be released at 3 p.m.

This new, now current layout is alright. Do I love it? Nope. Does it work? Yep.

Quick reading and posting for me now.

I stopped and now I am back now that much of the work is complete, but my reasons for slowing on posts….

    1. I had setup a few wordpress websites (7) and customized them. Still doing so.
    2. Transferring data and updating from an existing hacked (sql site) into a wordpress site.
    3. Consolidating many of URLs I’ve had for years, but have not used because of life.
    4. Assisting friends with graphics for their kids camping classes.
    5. Assisting other friends with their projects.
    6. Proofing images for an upcoming game that is months behind in schedule.
    7. Testing new gadgets to me, that are actually old.
    8. Editing video
    9. Dog had some pooping issues, hand to monitor for two weeks until normal.
    10. Trying to come up with a new YouTube theme for a new channel, still testing things.
    11. Not much new stuff for me to review also.

I think that wraps it up for me, I’m the ‘Busy UnBusy Guy’.

I was writing one article per week. First I broke me left hand, which delays my typing, then school started.

And just when I was ready to start heavy at it again, one of Eli’s policy’s for the site changed. He wants no religious posts. Maybe I am misunderstanding the policy. But I like to post a positive religious quote at the end of my articles. This motivates me and I don’t see it any different than if it were quote some other human. I got a little offended and I am now evaluating the need for this site since LinkedIn pulse shows me better analytics and doesn’t mind if I post a Bible verse at the end of my writing. I like Eli and GBD but I am specifically in my field to promote a positive living. For me and my “brand” that sometimes comes in the form of a Bible verse.

I was posting quite a bit on here… Until I got slammed at work and it feels like I don’t even have time to play with my little girl or wife anymore… I’m going to try and start posting again on here as I have missed reading all the good blogs… There are a lot of these that help me out…

I was posting a bunch and honestly, my free time has been sliced because of work. In August, we had some changes at my company and I’ve been ‘balls to the wall’ ever since, trying to play catch-up but never really getting there. I do plan to post more again though, hopefully soon as the Xmas season is slowly starting and things are getting a bit quieter.
