What happens to Windows 7 after October 31, 2014?

Microsoft today announced that PC manufacturers will get No licenses after October 31, 2014 for Windows 7 Home Basic, Home Premium and Ultimate.

OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) may maintain their existing stock of these OS versions and still sell it, but then it ended. In the stores Windows 7 can not be found since last year October 2013.

But there is also good news. One exception is Windows 7 Professional. When the final whistle will sound for Windows 7 Professional, Microsoft does not yet know. For companies that do not have a sense in Windows 8 and want to know more about Windows 9 / Threshold before they buy new PCs, is that a good thing.

support and security updates:
Regarding support changes after the end of October 2014 there anything at all. The free support for Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 does not end until January 31, 2015, Microsoft will continue to spread security updates for the OS until January 14, 2020, it is even possible that this date is extended, as happened with Windows XP ..

Good to hear is that the security updates for Win 7 will run until January 14, 2020. By that time Win 9 will hopefully be stable and possibly also user-friendly. Then the switch can be made to Win 9 …. if it is at least good.

And who knows, maybe we hear Eli in a broadcast saying ” Today we do a review of the new Windows 9 …..” 🙂
