Geek Brain Dump Becoming Social

Old 1 Comment on Geek Brain Dump Becoming Social 65

Several days ago, Geek Brain Dump became significantly more social with chat boards and forums. You can now friend or message someone. So far, these are not extremely popular, but with the Geek Brain Dump meetup and its continuing expansion, it will probably see more activity. I am also curious to see what will happen with yet more of Eli’s creations: and It is hard to believe that I was excited to hear that Eli was putting text advertisements on Geek Brain Dump, and now I take them for granted. Now if someone would like to get help or advice on how to build a project or what they should learn next, they can just ask on the forums. This is the place where all the ‘talking amongst yourselves’ that tends to happen during Eli’s live Daily Blob (now Weekly Debrief) comment feeds should go. This is sort of a social platform for geeks. Geeks can help other geeks, show off their knowledge, share opinions, or just geek out with other geeks. Now there is even the meetup for Geek Brain Dump, so you can geek out in real life and have fun. I cannot wait for what features will be added to Geek Brain Dump in the future or what it will look like in six months or even a year from now.

Perhaps Geek Brain Dump will become a huge place for geeks to just be geeks. At the time of this writing, there are about 650 posts on Geek Brain Dump, and there are about five to ten posts coming in per day with over one hundred authors. I am glad to see that Geek Brain Dump is growing more quickly than Eli or anyone could have expected. I hope Geek Brain Dump grows large enough to have a mobile app and that its best days are yet to come.

I agree there will be getting bigger but for it to do that it needs to be worked on like for example GBD is made from wordpress and at some point needs to be rebuilt to be a stand alone website.
