Google Cardboard

Google has made a step into the VR world with their latest innovation, Google Cardboard.

It uses a simple design of cardboard, Velcro,  and two lenses which combined with an app on your phone create a Virtual Reality experience. It utilizes your phones gyroscope to allow the VR to move as your head does and the circular magnet on the side to select options.

Click here to be taken to their development page where Google encourages you to build your Google Cardboard. The lenses seem to be the trickiest component to obtain but I can imagine this build will only run you around $20-$40.

It includes seven demos currently including Google Earth which will allow you to virtually explore anywhere in the world.

The app, simply called “Cardboard”, is available on the Google Play right now.
