For those of you struggling through the insanity that is Windows 8.1 a valuable free tool is available to help you cope.

Classic Shell turns your start button into an actual start button and adds your start screen icon at the top of the start list. ( Where it Should be)

Basically Classic Shell makes Windows 8.1 suck a little less.

I’m personally not a fan of Classic Shell (I don’t have any qualms about the new Start screen), but I’ve seen it deployed even on Windows Server 2012 before, and I do have to say that it does a pretty good job at bringing back the traditional Start menu.

Classic Shell is most impressive. I think I will stick with it even after Windows 9 brings back a crappy Live Tile Start Menu.
