Google Fiber Expanding!

Old 3 Comments on Google Fiber Expanding! 11

Last year the United States Government imposed a challenge to all ISP’s (Internet Service Providers). The challenge was simple; Gigabit Ethernet in every state! This announcement came not long after Google’s Announcement of a Gigabit Ethernet trial in Kansas City, Kansas.

Google’s trial of Gigabit Ethernet in Kansas was a huge success. Its service costs less than anything the other ISP’s can offer and is over 100 times faster as well. Not to mention, all of the necessary hardware needed to run the new high speed network is provided free, along with a Nexus Tablet. Earlier this week Google announced that it will be expanding its network to 34 more cities; hoping to expand this even more with time.

The Cities that will be getting Google Fiber can be found at the following link:

this is nice and all but would about helping our aural areas that have near to zero hi-speed internet of at lest 5 to 10 Mb/s of like cable, dsl or Wisp in thoes areas. the only reasion i say this is that i have lived in an area with no hi-speed internet all we could get was satellite internet, dial-up, or cell 3g service witch at three suck really bad and where really expensive to have like satellite and unreliable.

As a person living in IL, I was extremely sad that Chicago wasn’t part of that list.. so sad!! Don’t know why our community doesn’t want innovation… 🙁
